Home Visit

Yesterday we had a visit from our caseworker to update our home study. The visit went really well, and we are still eager to continue moving forward with the process. There is one small hiccup out there this time that has brought about some uncertainty for us. When we turned in the updated paperwork to have the caseworker come out for her visit, Brent had a job. As of about two weeks ago, however he was laid off.

We decided to still go through with everything, and as she asked us questions about employment, we told her about Brent's job. While we are hoping he finds work soon, we know it could be awhile. There are plenty of things we need to do to get our information updated that Brent will have time to do, such as Dr. visits, fingerprinting, CPR/First Aid classes, etc...We feel very hopeful and full of peace knowing that God is in this, and He is in the details now as much as He ever has been.

We also decided to change our parameters to include not only foster to adopt, but to just foster- care.

I have started working as a caregiver for seniors again, and have been filling in for some shifts.

I am not sure how long it will take to hear from our agency once we complete our requirements, but I will keep posting updates as they come.

I'm thankful you have the peace about going forward even during the circumstances. What a beautiful place to be, in the will of God. I will add JOB to my prayers for you. So excited for the possibilities the Lord has ahead for you. Sometimes, when we walk by faith, we don't have ground underneath our feet. But, we just keep walking and praying, and the road of His Jer. 29:11 plan will rise up to meet us.

Italy trip

I have been going through my pictures, and have enjoyed looking at this album of Italy. I was able to go over last year to attend a conference. This was the first time I have been back in twenty years. The pictures are made up mostly of places we lived as a family. My brother and I were able to go together, and we were graciously hosted by some friends of ours from language school in Perugia. I feel such a sense of nostalgia when I look at these pictures. I miss Italy so much. It was strange to go back as a tourist knowing I would be returning to the US after such a short time. Tonight I made cookies with Nutella in them, and I remembered how much I enjoyed the simple pleasures. Fortunately, you can find it here! Saturday, we are going up to my brother's house to celebrate a late Thanksgiving, only we will be making homemade tortellini instead of turkey. Happy Thanksgiving!
