Baby, no bump :)

Well, this is the adoption update I have been waiting to post for the last several years! We're going to be parents at the end of September / early October! We were just chosen by an amazing couple last month that we met through some good friends from church. The last several weeks have been mixed with so much emotion, and it is only now that I am starting to believe what is happening. I have written several drafts, edited, and deleted them, because I have had difficulty explaining this story in a way that would do it justice.

I am excited that I will be able to attend some appointments and ultrasounds. I think by the next one, we should be able to tell the gender, if he/she cooperates :)

So, I will keep you posted!

Thank you, Mindy!
I miss seeing you. I have not been able to go to the NWCWA, as our small group meets every other Monday. I am hoping we will start meeting on a different night when we finish up the book we are studying.
hugs!

Memories

Italy trip

I have been going through my pictures, and have enjoyed looking at this album of Italy. I was able to go over last year to attend a conference. This was the first time I have been back in twenty years. The pictures are made up mostly of places we lived as a family. My brother and I were able to go together, and we were graciously hosted by some friends of ours from language school in Perugia. I feel such a sense of nostalgia when I look at these pictures. I miss Italy so much. It was strange to go back as a tourist knowing I would be returning to the US after such a short time. Tonight I made cookies with Nutella in them, and I remembered how much I enjoyed the simple pleasures. Fortunately, you can find it here! Saturday, we are going up to my brother's house to celebrate a late Thanksgiving, only we will be making homemade tortellini instead of turkey. Happy Thanksgiving!
